Lofoten Islands Hike & Acro Retreat

August 8 - August 11

| Submitted by Hachim Essaadi

Did you know there is a tropical paradise above the polar circle?
Ok maybe not tropical, but Lofoten indeed has a very mild climate, for laying that far north, beautiful sandy beaches and see through water.

If you are one of those who don’t mind fresh air, can’t decide what you like more sea or mountains, and on top of that love acroyoga, than you need to come with us!

Lofoten are islands in the north west of Norway. They are famous for their exceptional landscape, dramatic peaks and the traditional Rorbu houses. Spike mountains, rises steeply from the sea like a 1000m wall, but when we approach them, we are fascinated by a fragmented, diverse coastline, lovely villages and incredible scenography. Wilderness of nature is felt at every step.

Our base will be the small fishing village of Stamsund. We will stay in traditional Rorbus and practice in the local Lofoten Yoga Studio, on the beach or on the mountain top.

This retreat will take you around the islands. We will start a day with yoga and meditation, after breakfast we will indulge in acroyoga practice. Afternoons will be reserved for different activities. We’ll go hiking, kayaking, fishing, relaxing on the beach. In the evenings we will sing by the fire, exchanging massage or tell stories.

We all know that Norway can be quite expensive, but we still want to make it as affordable as possible, so this is what we do:

We will make everything transparent and you can choose what you would like to attend. Click before you register what you want included. So for example you can get a meal ticket or prepare food yourself. The studio and the Rorbus have a kitchen.
We will use public transport to get around. A great way to meet the locals and have a chat with them about living on the island.

Level of movement workshops (yoga and acroyoga) will be open for beginners, advance beginners and intermediates that want to work on setting a solid foundation for more advanced moves. There will be time for free training and teachers are super skilled to give you cues to polish whatever you are working on. There will be no standing acro, no whips and only some basics of h2h.

Eva Brovinsky-

Growing up in beautiful Slovenia, Eva was always looking for sports and activities to take her into the great outdoors. The less gear and more natural the movement the better, so when AcroYoga came along, it was a dream come true!

Always excited to learn new skills and pass them on, Eva became a widely recognized teacher in the Slovenian Acro community. Never taking her students for granted, noting the gratitude and respect she felt from her students— her greatest inspiration. To manifest her teachings skill she took part in the yogaslacker TT and Montreal TT Level I in Italy 2017. Drawing inspiration of different Movements.

She is part of Acroventures bringing people into the nature of her beautiful country every year. Doing Hiking and Acro in Nature !!!!

Katharina Bauer-

Katharinas first contact with Acroyoga was 8 years ago, since then her body changed. Her view on life changed. She found a way to heal herself outside and inside, feeling capable of doing so much more, than ever expected. This passion she want to share with contagious enthusiasm about acroyoga with a smile, and her mission is to let everyone experience the feeling of lightness, movement and community.

In 2016 I did the teacher training with Nina and Boris (Acrobhakti) Connecting with music and becoming a teacher in heart. Since 2016 she is training all over Europe with Jill Campell and Heidi Blais. She took part in the first European Montréal Acroyoga Teacher training in Italy as photographer.

This is where these to lady bases joined their pathways. They came across before but ever since this training, a seed was growing. This summer in Slovenia it manifested.
