I just signed up with Facebook, and my name was populated with my email address.January 3, 2016 at 12:37 am #11792
There’s also an @tag that was populated with my email address that I can’t seem to change.January 3, 2016 at 1:35 am #11793

Slightly different issue, but related. Is it possible to add a facebook connection after we’ve established our account with a Username/Password sign in?
That we both have the flexibility of username/password and also have access to the open graph (or whatever it’s called) with the social network information from Facebook. Although I’m not sure how difficult it is to have both on an account.January 20, 2016 at 1:33 pm #12081
If you’re Acropedia account email is the same as your Facebook account email, you can login using Facebook and your account will be linked up.
After that you are free to change your email to whatever you like. They just need to be identical the first time you login using Facebook.
I just tested this. Great question!January 31, 2016 at 4:04 am #12739

Thank you!February 21, 2016 at 1:30 pm #13653
What all does the facebook connection gain? It populated my pic, email, and allowed me to login.
Perhaps a way to find other friends here?February 23, 2016 at 12:45 am #13687
That’s all it does at the moment, Patrick. It’s just an easier way to login rather than having to manually create an account.
@maxwell-sissman Good news! New Feature: you can now connect and disconnect your Facebook account under your profile -> Settings -> General. Please keep in mind, if you disconnect and logout you won’t be able to login again unless you have your username/password set up.
@neilon Please try it again and let me know. Facebook login using Chrome on IOS my work now though I have no means, at the moment, to test it.
